“Kazakh Altai” is a tour of the East Kazakhstan region. Part of the roads run through mountain ridges and wide valleys. This tour visits the famous mountain lakes Markakol and Yazevoye, as well as the Bukhtarma Reservoir. A horseback ride will take you to the foot of Belukha, the highest peak of the Altai Mountains. A visit to the village of Urunhayka lets you soak up the spirit and way of life of Altai villages. And driving along the Old Austrian Road adds a touch of adventure to the road trip.

Transfer to the Bukhtarma Reservoir. 4h. Overnight stop in tents. Setting up camp. Swimming. Dinner. Sleep.

Transfer to Katon-Karagay. 3.5h. Buying park tickets. Lunch at a roadside cafe.
Transfer to Lake Yazevoye. 2h. including photo stops.
Overnight at a guest house on Lake Yazevoye.

Day three:

Packing and preparation for the horseback trek.
Meeting the horses. Setting off on the trail.
Ride on horseback to the Lower Camp (Lake Kokkol). 32 km. Lunch on the way.

Overnight in a tent or a cabin.

Horseback ride to Mount Belukha. 10 km.

Return to the Lower Camp (Lake Kokkol).

Additional information on the course of the state border line and the limits of the border zone can be obtained from tour operator representatives or the Border Guard Service of the NSC of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
