Jimmy apparently decided to cross the Betpak-Dala desert for promotional purposes. He needed an escort vehicle to carry the camp equipment and food supplies, as well as for safety — after all, wild and dangerous animals do live in the desert. The route was planned along the tracks visible in Google Maps. A great deal of fuel and water was taken along. A group of three spent ten days on an expedition across the deserted, windswept desert. Of course, there were adventures and breakdowns along the way. They filmed as they traveled and made a short amateur film about this trip.
