This is a four-day tour of the Almaty Region in which you can see all the main key attractions: steppes, mountains, canyons and lakes. You will visit three high-mountain lakes, Altyn-Emel National Park with its “Singing Dunes” and the multicolored Aktau Mountains, as well as the legendary Charyn Canyon. A four-day journey is time enough to immerse yourself deeper in the nature of the Almaty Region and merge with its beauty, and for some it will simply become an escape from it all in Kazakhstan.

Day one:
Departure from Almaty.
Transfer to the village of Basshi, 240 km, 3 hours.
Lunch stop at a hotel in Basshi.
Purchase of tickets to Altyn-Emel National Park.
Transfer to the Singing Dunes, 50 min.
Walk around the Singing Dunes, 2 hours.
Transfer to the hotel in Basshi.
Rest. Shower. Dinner. Sleep.
Day two:
Wake-up. Breakfast.
Transfer to the Aktau Mountains, 1.5 hours. Dirt road.
Walk through the mountains, 2-3 hours.
Return to the hotel.
Lunch at the hotel.
Transfer to the village of Saty, 4.5 hours.
Shower. Rest. Dinner. Sleep.
Day three:
Wake-up. Breakfast.
Transfer to Kolsai Lake 1. Travel time 20 min
Hike to Kolsai 2 (optional) takes 3.5 hours one way.
Distance to the lake 8 km .
Lunch .
Return to Saty
Dinner. Sleep
Day four:
Wake-up, hearty breakfast.
Transfer to Kaindy Lake, 1.15 hours. Dirt road.
Walk around the lake, 2 hours.
Return to the village of Saty.
Lunch at the guest house.
Transfer to Charyn Canyon, 2.5 hours.
Walk through the canyon, 2 hours.
Return to Almaty, 3 hours including stops.
Almaty – Kapshagay – Sary-Ozek – Altyn-Emel Pass – Basshi – the Singing Dunes – Aktau Mountains – Saty (Kolsai Lake 1, Kolsai Lake 2, Kaindy Lake) – Charyn Canyon.
Upon request, an additional guide service is available: the guide will tell you about this excursion in detail. Price: Russian-speaking guide from KZT 30,000 per day; English-speaking guide from KZT 50,000 per day. The guide’s meals and accommodation are paid separately.

In this regard, the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan asks citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign nationals to stay alert and pay attention to warning signs and information stands when visiting mountain areas (natural sites) located in the border districts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Additional information on the course of the state border line and the limits of the border zone can be obtained from tour operator representatives or the Border Guard Service of the NSC of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
